Nice art, but....
It is a little offensive that the books by this particular artist are so rare all the time. His work is beautiful, sure. But does it really deserve the ludicrously small runs that the publishers do, just to make them more sought after? Decidedly no. Frank Frazetta's books aren't like this, Michael Whelan's aren't, Brian Bolland's aren't. So what gives? All of these artists are at least the same level of excellence that Jean is.... The whole thing smacks of a deliberate attempt to force rarity and thus higher prices onto people. No thanks.

Jaw-dropping Awesome
For people who collect art books, be they regular collectors or Artists themselves, there is usuually a handful of books that they will always love, that they would run into a burning house to get. For me, this is one of those books.
James Jean ruined my experience with the Fables comics, because for me the inside is as important as the outside, but after seeing these covers, the inside is incomparable. So imagine my surprise when the best of the best is collected into one tasty volume!
The book is beautiful, the work is stunning and inspiring. This book is like a fine wine among soda-pop. To have this book is to have a window into genius in your lap.

Gorgeous work, interesting process shots
James Jean is one of the most talented illustrators out there, and this book is a great example. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in art, whether or not they are Fables fans. The process shots are also tremendously interesting, and the colors in this book are so rich and beautiful. I can't wait for more of his upcoming books, especially Kindling!

Great Book!
This book was a Christmas gift for my son who is an art student majoring in illustration. He absolutely loves it especially since it shows some of the process not just the finished works.
