Ash should shut up!
Okay, practically everyone in existence hated "Evil Dead: Hail to the King" I actually liked that game because it provided more of a sense of horror compared to this game. For example, in "Hail to the King" -you run around in the woods alone at night, walk through cellars, grave yards and battle deadite bosses. Also, Ash is more of a tough guy in "Hail to the King." He says some pretty radical things, too. It gives you the feeling that he's the Ash from the end of "Army of Darkness" and that this game could've been made into a fourth Evil Dead. I know Ash's character was never supposed to become a leader of men, according to the creators of EVIL DEAD, but Ash is a lot more likable that way.
Now don't get me wrong, for twenty bucks, this game does a good job. It gives you the feeling that your in a neighborhood that has become overrun with deadites. But it gets a tad bit repetitive running around on the city streets. Also, How come there are no blocks or streets and this town is just a bunch of windy turns with porno shops and hardware stores everywhere? Basically every level in the game has you do the following: A) Run around and shoot stuff and B)Run around and collect stuff. But that's not the worst part.
1) All the bosses have the same cartoonish look to them that reminds me more of Slimer from "Ghostbusters" as opposed to an actual deadite. Not scary and you all battle them in really stupid unrealistic ways. Like using a shovel to deflect energy balls. Um, how about you hit it with your chainsaw and then shoot it death? That would actually make for interesting gameplay considering the amount of space you can run around in.
2) The ending. Ugh, what a piece of crap ending. Ash says some really REALLY dumb joke (It makes the chicken crossing the road joke look like Chris Rock's stand up) and it leaves no opening for a sequel, or a sequel that you would want anyway. Evil dead in feudal (Place not in United States, I don't want to ruin it). Umm... Let me think...No, thanks!
3) Ash is such an ugly loser in this game. (Both design wise and as an overall video game character) He says like 5 funny/cool things in the games cutscenes and the rest of the time he just keeps saying REALLY stupid things that aren't funny and then he follows it up with 6 other sentences that aren't funny or entertaining. He should have said less throughout the game.
Overall, this was a good game. The amount of new weapons was awesome. It did get repetitive but there are some bonus levels to play to test your skill that you unlock through out the game. So this game could keep you busy for awhile. The music in this game is okay, but the "Hail to the King" theme was AMAZING. This theme. Bland. Bland. And lastly. Bland. All considering, it was better than "Evil Dead: Regeneration." Thanks for reading.

Good times... Goooood times...
The interview with Ash (Bruce Campbell - best thing to come out of the big screen in ages...) alone makes this game a must for any Evil Dead fan, be it 1,2, or Army of Darkness. It's fun, playable, and even a bit challenging at times if you get too liberal with your ammo too early in the game. If you love Campbell's classic one-liners, if you love Evil Dead, if you love a a good time, check it out.

simple, but fun
At first glance, I thought this game might be a bit of a bore. the graphics are a bit on the simple side. But the more you get into the game, the better it gets. They did a good job capturing the dry humor of Ash with the help of Bruce Campbells voice to make it authentic. With a good lineup of weapons to choose from slashing and shooting your way through the deadites is quite enjoyable.

Blood sweat and chainsaw!
Much improved from the earlier "hail to the king", "Fistful Of Boomstick" really got my appetite for destruction going and left me wanting more. You get to travel over differen't time periods of the town and see what the dead would have done to them. Awesome weapons and great enemies to kill. There is humor in it as a review said below. If you dont' talk to all characters you are totally missing out. 3d environment, great controls. Only annoying thing is that the one liners repeat too often on the one liner button. They removed this feature on "regeneration" I think it was in good taste.
Typical macho Campbell at his best. I loved this game. You get a whole lotta' game for your price. Don't miss it. Great Ending and story... and did i mention the deadites rule?

Evil Dead: Fistful of Boomstick Reviewed by Mr. Sean David
Let me start off with this. Fistful of Boomstick is definitely better than the horrible Hail to the King. It still doesn't stack up to the likes of BloodRayne or Devil May Cry. First off, the graphics aren't terribly great, but decent. CG is pretty good, though and Bruce Campbell( AKA "Ash" ) is the only detailed character on the game. Sound is great with the afforementioned Bruce Campbell lending his voice and his one-liners are hilarious as always, but music is barely adequate. Controls handle pretty well and there's no denying the sweet, sweet pleasure of chainsawing a Deadite and tossing a stick of dynamite in its mouth. Yes, FOB does give you such sequences of fun things like that, but also has parts of boredom as you wander around pretty generic levels( all levels consist of the same town, just different eras ). Now if you're a Evil Dead fan, you'll probably like it. I enjoyed it despite it flaws. But if you're looking for another DMC or BloodRayne, wait for their sequels or in DMC's case, wait for its prequel. I'm giving it a 3 out of 5. This is Sean David siging off.
Until then,
Semper Fi, Carry On.
