Review of Overlord 2
Overlor II is the sequel to the hit warped fantasy action adventure that had players being delightfully despotic. In Overlord II, a new Overlord and a more powerful army of Minions take on the Glorious Empire, an advanced Romanesque nation, in a truly epic, yet familiarly warped, adventure. As the Glorious Empire conquers kingdoms and destroys any sign of magic it finds, it¿s time to go Minion Maximus with a rousing cry of ¿Veni, Vidi, Vici¿ and send in the horde. The Minions return smarter, deadlier (and funnier) and are ready to fight in large scale battles that will see their wild pack mentality squaring up to the organised legions of the Glorious Empire. As ever, they¿ll do anything and everything the Overlord commands of them, especially now that they can run ravage and wreck buildings and scenery. They¿ve also learnt to ride: In Overlord II, Minions will be able to mount up and ride wolves and other magical creatures around the landscape and take them into battle, making our band of merry fighters faster and fiercer than ever before

Not bad, not bad.
Not bad, pretty entertaining actually. Got kind of tedious about 2 hours into it so i switched games. I'll probably put it back in later when i need a break from something else. I especially appreciate the dark humor and comedy that saturates the game. I wouldn't pay $[...] for this game, but when the price comes down it's certainly worth picking up.

games for boys and AS girls
My son loves this game. Has a lot of fantasy characters and boys like it because they can progress from Overlad (hehe) to Overlord. All powerful with minions for those who want to feel more powerful and less vulnerable.

Overlord II
If you like the first Overlord then you will probably like Overlord II. All the best parts of the game are still there, good humor, good evilness, etc.
The most significant improvement to me is the option to resurrect your favorite (most powerful) minions if they happen to die. It costs a little more than spawning a level 1 but it does add a lot of persistence to the game.
Dominating peasants was very silly but I never really saw them doing much other than following me around
I had so much fun until I got to the Green area. This was just not well done in my opinion. It was confusing, tedious and one dimensional (only Greens tactics allowed).
I'll update more if I ever get past the Green area.

Amazingly Fun Sequel
Overlord 2 is very much like the original Overlord, which is great news to lovers of that fantastic games! The wry humor, the teeming minions, and the delightful town-taking-over adventures abound.
You start out in this game as a child overlord, dealing with other children. The minions latch on to you immediately and soon you are knocking over snowmen. You learn some basic skills and in short order you are an adult with far greater aims.
You have two types of activities in your quest for domination - destroying the towns you come across, or subjugating them under your dominion. If you take over the towns you get income from them, so this seems the far better choice.
You gather up four types of minions as you go, the same as in the previous version. Each minion has a certain type of skill. Even better, minions now have mounts, so your red guys ride salamanders, brown guys ride wolves, and green guys ride spiders. It makes for great fun.
Spells can be upgraded, weapons can be forged, by finding the unique dark crystals. Unlike the ever-present magic crystals, you have to track down the dark ones. Most of the times you can replay maps to figure out where they are, but we found one case where it's one-pass-or-you-lose-it.
If you become fond of a minion that you're leveling up from 1 to 10 and that minion dies, you can now resurrect them. A great way to build up your minion army strength!
We loved Overlord 1, so we appreciated all of the humor here. Sometimes the comments are laugh out loud funny. You do have to have a wry sense of humor though - after all, you are taking on the floucy elves who protect the fuzzy seals, for example.
There are a few minor complaints. The level design is a bit unfulfilling. It takes you a long while to get all your minions, and there's hardly any gameplay left after that to use them all. Even if you go slowly gathering loot you still have to replay levels to get enough cash for the upgrades you want.
Saving is good in general, but gate transport is annoying. They'll say a town has "gate 1", "gate 2" and "gate 3". They could have actually labeled the gates with what they were near so you didn't have to guess.
There are a few bugs. Minions get stuck in spots. You send 10 minions at an activation point and it only registers 9 of them. You have a quest to get to 100 citizens and one of them is hiding inside a house, with no indication of where they are, so you have to randomly go searching house to house to find them.
The final boss also seems rather easy, not a fitting ending to a game we love.
Still, these are minor issues in a game that's quite fun. We gladly replay this and enjoy every moment of it.

Its fun being bad its more fun being evil
This game is great. The game play and graphics remind me of Fable 2. The humor is a lot like South Park. You club baby seals, fight rainbow hippy peta elves. Man its fun. I download the demo off live and was hooked. Im a really picky gamer and tend not to love most games but this game is one of my favs. I never played the first game so I can not comment on the differences between the two. It nice to play a game and laugh ,have a good time and not want to throw your controller at the T.V. or listen to a bunch of middle school kids wine. Love the game, I plan on buying the first one
