Werewolf: The Devil's Hound Review
Synopsis:Kevin had it all. An exciting pyrotechnic job, a loving family, and a beautiful wife. Until a chance encounter with the new girl in town helped him release his inner beast.
Werewolf: The Devil’s Hound (2007) is an American independent low budget action, comedy horror movie that is 89 minutes long and was filmed in several locations in Connecticut, USA. First-time directors, writers, editors and cinematographers Gregory C. Parker (Banshee!!! (2008), Blood Descendants (2007), Zen Man (2006)) and Christian Pindar (Banshee!!! (2008), Breakfast (2009), Nocturne (2005)) failed miserably at executing their creation. The movie contains blood, decapitation, werewolf, alien, female werewolf, gore, bad humor, fireworks, and major plot holes.
Werewolf: The Devil’s Hound revolves around Kevin (Michael Dionne - Whirlygirl (2006), Crippled Creek (2005), The Product of 3c (2007)) who had the perfect life. Kevin had a great job, a happy, caring family that loves him until Christine (Christy O. Cianci) enters his life. Kevin and his team opened a package of firework that was sent to them to put on display. Kevin and his team soon realize that one of the team member’s behavior suddenly changed. They suspect that something is wrong with her but did not think it was something extraordinary like what they finally discover it was. The team eventually realizes that the bloodthirsty Christine, who escaped from a few scientist, has attacked their team member resulting in her bizarre attitude change. Kevin’s life took a drastic turn for the worse which lead him to make a hard choice as to which family to choose. Will Kevin choose the family he loves and holds close to his heart or will he choose his new profound family?
The actors did a horrible job with their roles, and I am not sure if that was because of their screenplay or if it was because of their lack of talent. I should have followed my gut and stopped watching this movie during the first few minutes but of course, I have to be one of those people that likes to watch the entire movie to see if there is, at least, one highlight. There was no highlight, no suspense, no thrills, no scares and no excitement. There was nothing entertaining that will make me say hmmm, I did not just waste 89 minutes watching something that should have never been made. I gave this movie a two because of the okay looking gore, and also, the directors/writers are independent and tried to do a decent job that went horribly wrong.
