Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome Review

After being exiled from the most advanced town in post apocalyptic Australia, a drifter travels with a group of abandoned children to rebel against the town's queen.

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) is an Australian action, adventure and thriller post-apocalyptic movie. Directors George Miller (Happy Feet (2006), Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981), Mad Max (1979)) and George Ogilvie (The Shiralee (1987), The Crossing (1990), The Dismissal (1983)) did a fantastic job working together. This movie was an intriguing watch that captivated my attention and threw me into another world. It is considered an old movie to me today, but I will watch it again.

Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson - Braveheart (1995), The Patriot (2000), Signs (2002)) is traveling the Australian desert with a camel pulling his wagon twenty years after he avenged his family. He defeated Lord Humungus fifteen years ago and is now attacked by Jedediah. Jedediah (Bruce Spence - Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981), Finding Nemo (2003), Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)) steals Max’s belongings and drove away with Max’s vehicle. Max made his way through the desert by walking and came upon Bartertown which is founded by Aunty Entity (Tina Turner - Tina Turner: Live in Amsterdam (1996), GoldenEye (1995), What’s Love Got to Do with It (1993)) who is ruthless. Pig feces is used to help with electricity and vehicles - watch the movie to see what I am talking about. The pig feces is used in an underground refinery below Bartertown. Max met Aunty Entity, who has a special job as a fighter or him. Aunty Entity told Max that he would fight against someone that is trying to overrule her. Max agreed to fight Blaster (Paul Larsson) after he did some snooping and saw that his vehicle that was stolen from him is in possession of Blaster.

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome was a pleasure to watch, and I will see it again with my family. The backstories of all the important characters did justice to the movie and made me relate more to the characters. The costumes were purely amazing along with the sets and special effects. The car chase was spectacular although it appeared as though it was taken from another movie. I also favor this movie because of Tina Turner and Mel Gibson being in it. The movie was done superbly for a 1985 movie because I still enjoy to this day.
