The planet from Alien (1979) has been colonized, but contact is lost. This time, the rescue team has impressive firepower, but will it be enough?

Aliens (1986) is an American science-fiction action horror movie that is the sequel to Alien (1979) and is the second installment in the Alien franchise/series. The movie is two hours and 34 minutes and was filmed in Acton Lane Power Station, Acton Lane, London, England, UK, Albert R. Broccoli 007 Stage, Pinewood Studios, Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire, England, UK and Pinewood Studios, Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire, England, UK. Aliens had an estimated budget of $18 million and grossed over $180 million worldwide. The movie won the Sound Effects Editing and Visual Effects award from the Academy Awards and won eight Saturn Awards. The film is considered by many to be the best installment in its series and genre. Director and co-writer James Cameron (Titanic (1997), Avatar (2009), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)) did a phenomenal job bringing this movie to the screens. Aliens blew me away when I saw it a few years after it was released and still manages to be a spectacular treat for me today after seeing so many movies about aliens. The film contains an extreme amount of violence, bad language, suspense, thrills, in your face action, mysterious, sitting on the edge of your seat moments and a few frightening scenes for younger viewers.

Aliens revolves around Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver - Avatar (2009), Alien (1979), Alien⊃3; (1992)) and takes place fifty-seven years after enduring a disastrous ordeal. Ellen survived 57 years sleeping in cryogenic stasis while drifting across the galaxy. Ellen is alone as no one believes her story about "Aliens" on the planet LV-426 and how her partners died. Ellen was ordered to visit and investigate the colony on LV-426 by her company that she was hesitant upon accepting. Ellen decided to aid her team that consisted of tough space marines. The team went on their rescue mission to find out if there are any aliens or survivors on the terraformed planet.

The fantastic alien creatures and dialogue captivated me along with tension build-up and atmosphere of the story. The special effects and mechanical looking aliens are creepy, scary as well as the set and the acting from the actors were superb. I love the movie and everything it entails - there is no other like this film. I gave this movie an eight because it was a fantastic treat that cannot be replicated to be as outstanding as this Sci-Fi film. The movie, however, did have loose ends and goofs that cannot be missed.
