Mega Piranha (2010) is an American science fiction horror movie that was filmed in California, USA, and Belize. The only thing I like from the film is a few scenic photos. Director and writer Eric Forsberg (Over the Hedge (2006), Alien Abduction (2005), Night of the Dead: Leben Tod (2006)) did a horrible job bringing us this dreadful movie. The movie was a total waste, and I am tired of seeing movies that cannot make it to a score of at least a four. What a waste of money!!! All movie lovers should stay clear of this film because it will ruin your mood.
A genetical breed of piranha has escaped into an isolated part of the Orinoco River in Venezuela. The mega piranha soon escapes from their isolated spot after humans interfered and are heading downstream. Heading downstream is not the problem. The problem is that the piranha’s are killing everything/everyone in their path. It is tourist season in Florida, and the mega piranhas are also visiting. Special Agent Jason Fitch (Paul Logan - Code Red (2013), Killers (1997), Ballistica (2009)) and Sarah Monroe tried to contain the mega piranhas in Venezuela. Sarah (Tiffany - Ted (2012), Ted 2 (2015), Religulous (2008), Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County (2004)) and Fitch soon broke all laws when they could not cross the Venezuelan border. They begin to get into trouble with the authorities when they attempt to cross the Venezuelan border. The duo stole a helicopter and flew out of Venezuela but soon ran into a problem when it ran out of fuel. Will they be able to save the tourists and Floridians from the mega piranhas?
There is nothing good I can say about this movie - everything was horrible including the acting, sound effects, special effects, and cinematography. The piranhas were ugly as they should be, but not realistic. There were too many plot holes to overlook, and the movie was blah.
