My Demon Lover (1987) is an American fantasy comedy movie that was one hour and a half long. Director Charlie Loventhal (The First Time (1983), Meet Market (2008), Home Movies (1980)) did a poor job executing this movie. The movie contains sexual scenes, violence, mild comedy and a dragged on film. I will not watch this movie again because it was a total waste of my time, well except for the excellent soundtrack.
The theme of this film was one that I have never seen before - a guy grows horns and wings whenever he gets aroused. Denny (Michele Little - Apollo 13 (1995), Radioactive Dreams (1985), Appointment with Fear (1985)) is a beautiful girl with blonde hair. Denny always picks up the wrong type of guys and thinks she has the worst luck ever in finding the right guy. Not so long after, she met Kaz (Scott Valentine - Phantom 2040 (1994), Carnosaur 3: Primal Species (1996), To Sleep with a Vampire (1993)) whom she deeply falls in love with. There is two huge problems, 1. Katz turns into a guy with wings and horns everytime they start to get intimate. 2. Kaz thinks that he is the one that is attacking all the females and just does not remember it - he thinks it happens when he transforms. Is Kaz the serial killer?
Charles (Robert Trebor - Universal Soldier (1992), Talk Radio (1988), Raise Your Voice (2004), The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985)) experiences the same thing as Kaz where he also transforms upon being aroused. There is one difference between the two of them - Charles can control his transformation and he is very violent. Will Kaz find a cure for his curse? What role does Charles play in this movie?
I would recommend this movie to individuals who like a dull screenplay with lots of sexual content. I only like the music and mild comedy in this film, everything else was a fail. The actors did an okay job with their roles, but it is less than average. The sets were not anything unusual and nothing memorable. Overall, I would stay clear of this movie.
