Director Ed Gass-Donnelly did not do such a good job with The Last Exorcism Part II. I did not like this movie and would not really recommend it to anyone to see. The original Exorcist movie was awesome and wins all the other Exorcism movies that came after. The Last Exorcism Part II is a complete waste of time and money. It is not scary and does not make you want to puke like the first movie. The acting could have been way better and also the scenes/settings, basically it had poor execution of whatever was written. Ed Gass-Donnelly also directed Small Town Murder Songs, This Beautiful City, Dying Like Ophelia and a few other movies. Scare factor in this movie is softly playing music followed by loud noises or bangs. Needless to say this movie will not get you shaking in your pants. I felt no emotions at all toward the actors and actresses. I did not feel connected and could not wait for it to be over with. If I could, I might have actually fell asleep!!!
Nell (Ashley Bell - The Bounceback, Chasing Shakespeare, Saraswathi, The Truth About Angels) is a young girl who was possessed and is struggling to get on with her life. She works in a hotel, getting close to a guy name Chris (Spencer Treat Clark - Much Ado About Nothing, The Last House on the Left, Superheroes, Camp Hell) and making new friends in the all girls home she lives in. She thought she was doing a good job getting her life back together at the all girls home. The demon spirit (Demon Abalam) that once possessed her returns to possess her once again. I have no idea why the director had Nell wonder all over Louisiana in this movie, it made no sense at all. The boyfriend, Chris dies at the end and she survives.
There was no need for The Last Exorcist Part II and I am so hoping that part three does not even exist. This movie is so daunting, boring, and mediocre.
