Skinwalker Ranch Review
Synopsis:A scientific research team investigates and documents the supernatural phenomena surrounding the disappearance of a cattle ranchers 10 year old son. Inspired by true events that shocked the paranormal community around the world.
Skinwalker Ranch is based on some events that were believed to happen on the actual property of Skinwalker Ranch. It is believed that many UFO sightings has happened at Skinwalker Ranch (Sherman Ranch) which is about 480 acres and is located southeast of Ballard, Utah.
Skinwalker Ranch is the first movie director Devin McGinn (Acted in Unicorn City, The Last Lovecraft: Relic of Cthulhu, Redemption) directed. He did a good job for his first movie which contains little violence, alien abductions, profanity and a whole lot of loose ends.
Skinwalker Ranch is about a cattle ranch owners’ 10 year old son who disappeared right in front of his eyes. He just vanished into thin air while playing in the fields. That was the best part of the movie for me, it made me want to see what will happen next. Soon after, a massive investigation started with cameras hooked up all around the ranch in hopes of capturing what has taken the little boy.
Skinwalker Ranch kind of reminds me of Dark Skies at the beginning but then it got chaotic. With all said above, this horror movie was a total failure. Director Devin did not succeed at directing his first movie and the actors could have been better. I was lost in the movie, not sure if it was aliens, wolves, zombies, ghosts, chupacabras/vampires (blood sucked from the cows), or some other creature attacking. I so think that the camera flashing before something major is about happen was a total spoiler because its like giving the audience a warning, "hey guys - lights are flashing so beware." Well on the brighter side, I found some things absurd which kind of humor me so yes, the movie contained comedy.
I personally felt this movie had potential and could have been way better but the execution of the movie was very poorly done. The ending did not seem like an ending at all, basically I am saying there was no conclusion or answer to questions the viewer may have. I would not recommend this movie.
