Adam Wingard (V/H/S/2, The ABCs of Death, A Horrible Way to Die) is a known director to many viewers because of his incredible job on scary horror movies. You’re Next contains nude scenes, sex, high intense gore scenes, violence, bad language, suspense, murderers, gut wrenching frightening scenes where your stomach twirls up all together. It is also an awesome combination of all time throw up gory scenes, horror, huge body count, comedy, jump out of your seat scares and cinematography. It has a few good humor moments to it which went well with the movie. I love that this movie gets straight to the point/action.
This movie is about Felix (Nicholas Tucci - Choose, The Worst Year of My Life, Chilling Visions: 5 Senses of Fear), Zee (Wendy Glenn - 500 Miles North, And If Tomorrow…, Waking Madison) and Crispian (A.J. Bowen - Synchronicity, The Sacrament, Meat) hires assassins to kill their family and make it look like a break in so they can collect the inheritance. Will Felix, Crispian or Zee make it to see their inheritance? The three above people are attending a family reunion which consist of the parents, kids and their significant other. There is non stop action scenes in this movie. Tariq and Drake got shot during a dinner argument and then chaos broke loose. Everyone’s cellphone was jammed so no one could not call for help. Aimee got her throat slashed by a garrote wire after she tries to escape. There is so much happening in this movie that you have to see it if you’re a horror fan. Imagine blender being smashed against someones head with the blender on and blades cutting through someone’s head, or getting stabbed in the head with a paring knife or machete.
You’re Next is a cliche but it was executed so well that it stands out from the rest of its sort. The ending of this movie surprised me very much. Pay attention to ending before the credits roll. You won’t be disappointed. The creepy music/soundtrack went well with the movie killing theme. This will most definitely be on my watch again list.
