Director Ben Wheatley (Kill List, A Field in England, High Rise) executed this movie to the worst of his abilities. Writer Alice Lowe (Out of Water, Stiffy) and Steve Oram (The Lincoln Tiger, The Wingnut Tapes, Connections) also stars in this movie. I must commend Steve and Alice for a job poorly done on their performance. I could not relate/connect to the characters for even a minute. I was bored during the entire movie and kept looking at the time. The only reason I watched the entire movie is because of all the great reviews I read about it. I was waiting for the big wow factor and it just never came. I would definitely not recommend this movie to anyone to watch.
Sightseers contains sexual content, violence, gore, suspense, bad language, frightening scenes and drug use.
Steve Oram (Altar, The Last Summer on Earth, Skin Deep) played Chris who is a serial killer that took his girlfriend of three months on a one week adventure/trip. His girlfriend, Alice Lowe (The World’s End, The Ghoul, Kill List) played the role of Tina who lives with her dominating elderly mother and is the sole caretaker of her. On their journey, Tina discovers that her boyfriend gets easily irritated over people who litter and offend him. She later discovers that he kills people for his enjoyment and he is a serial killer. She soon joins him and start killing people who offend her. She eventually did her masterpiece kill with no effort at all and that was at the very ending of the movie.
I gave this movie a 2 because I absolutely love the background scenery.
