Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead Review

Synopsis:

Still on the run from a group of N*zi zombies, a man seeks the aid of a group of American zombie enthusiasts, and discovers new techniques for fighting the zombies.

Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead (2014) is a comedy action horror movie that is the sequel to 2009 movie, Dead Snow. Director Tommy Wirkola (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013), Dead Snow (2009), Kill Buljo: The Movie (2007)) did a better job executing this movie than Dead Snow in 2009. The movie contains sexual content/reference, extreme violence, inventive morally questionable thing, crushing heads, suspense, zombies, frightening scenes, baby strollers being blown up, thrills and comedy with a punch. There is zombies and blood splatter everywhere in this sequel.

Dead Snow 2 continued right where it left off from Dead Snow. Martin found one of Colonel Herzog’s coins and the movie begins. Martin cuts off his zombie arm to stop the infection from a zombie bite he incurred while escaping Colonel Herzog and the N*zi zombies in Øksfjord. The N*zi zombies are not your average zombie; they can now run, talk and think which makes them even more dangerous than before. All the zombies around the world can also run instead of walking limblessly around. He killed as many zombies as he could while trying to escape in a car. Soon after he fell asleep behind the wheel and accidently drove off the road. He woke up the next morning in a hospital surrounded by police because he is now a suspect of killing all of his friends who were medical students. The police do not believe his zombie story and laugh at him. His hospital stay gave him a new arm, but he was not happy when he found out that the doctors sewed on Herzog’s undead limb. He now has a new arm, but it is not what he desires.

Martins arm from Herzog killed a police officer with a Mercedes after he escaped from the hospital. Martin knows that Herzog will want revenge, and the N*zi zombie are back to finish what started 70 years ago. This movie is definitely for people with a strong stomach because Martin will kill children as well… in the most gruesome way. Stay clear of this movie if you are faint hearted and do not like gory, disturbing scenes. The movie was just gut wrenching and made me quiver a lot with chills in my spine. Dead Snow 2 is a must watch for all zombie lovers that love gore, horror and action mixed together. The cinematography, acting, makeup, sound effects, and everything was magnificent. The end scene was a surprise so pay attention to the ending.
