Zombeavers Review

Synopsis:

A fun weekend turns into madness and horror for a bunch of groupies looking for fun in a beaver infested swamp.

Zombeavers (2014) is an American horror-comedy movie that I would not see again even if I had time to waste. Director Jordan Rubin (Last Call with Carson Daly (2002), The Man Show (1999), Crank Yankers (2002)) failed at executing this movie that might not have had a great screenplay to begin with. The movie contains nudity, sexual language/content, violence, gore, bad language and awful acting/dialog.

Zombeavers starts by showing us a truck carrying canisters of Bio-hazard materials. The truck hits a deer that caused one of the canisters to fall off of the truck and into a river. The canister was carried into a beaver dam by currents and well you guessed it. The canister raptured and started leaking green liquid that turns the beavers into zombeavers.

So you are asking what the movie is really about?? The movie is about a group of teenagers spending a weekend in Ashwood town at Mary’s (Rachel Melvin - Days of Our Lives (1965), Dumb and Dumber To (2014), Boo (2005)) cousin house. The girls are helping Jenn (Lexi Atkins - Turtle (2014), The Boy Next Door (2015), White Dwarf (2014)) get over her boyfriend Sam (Hutch Dano - Zeke and Luther (2009), Den Brother (2010), Ramona and Beezus (2010)) for cheating on her. Jenn, Zoe (Cortney Palm - Sushi Girl (2012), Losing Ferguson (2011), The Haymaker (2010), Slow Fade (2014)) and Mary went for a swim after they discover there is no mobile network. Smyth (Rex Linn - Cliffhanger (1993), Django Unchained (2012), Rush Hour (1998)) saves the girls from a bear and then warns them to stay away from the beavers. All of the girls’ boyfriends including Sam surprise the girls at the house. Mary invited the guys in after Jenn told her it was okay. Jenn and Mary felt a horrible feeling that something is wrong after Tommy (Jake Weary - Altitude (2010), Camp Fred (2012), Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred (2011)) had to kill the beaver that attacked Jenn in the shower. The girls are freaked out by the beaver because it did not have pupils. The teenagers go for a swim the next day, and someone is attacked. What will the group do when the zombeavers surround their house?

Needless to say, I did not enjoy this movie and do not recommend it. I gave this movie a four because I have never saw or heard of zombie beavers before and it was not exciting. The movie gets a plus for being original on the beaver zombies. Everything else about the movie including the acting was just blah.
