Dark Moon Rising Review
Synopsis:A group of shape-shifting werewolves descend upon a small town in search of a girl who is re-born once every 2000 years. She holds the key to their survival and all will die who stand in their way.
Dark Moon Rising (2015) is an American fantasy horror movie that is 124 (two hours and four minutes) minutes long. I had no interest in seeing this movie from seeing the trailer and cover image - it gave me the blah impression, and I felt that I was going to see something that I was going to regret. I felt as though I was going to waste my time if I go ahead and view this movie, and I was totally right about all of my hesitations and thoughts. Director and writer Justin Price (The Cloth (2013), Plastic Films (2011), The People’s Agency (2009)) did a horrible job making this nearly unwatchable movie. There were so many mistakes in this film that it was unbelievable, and the budget was not as low as some independent films. The majority of indie movies excel better than this movie that I would not recommend this film to my worst enemy if I had one. The mic/equipment were seen in various shots in this movie. One of the shots was when a couple was making out in the car. The CGI could not be any worse than it was as the wolf looks totally fake. I felt as though there was no real plot to this movie and the actors just made their lines up as the film progresses because the actors did a horrible acting job.
Dark Moon Rising (2015) revolves around college student Chace (Cameron White - The Cloth (2013), Joshua Tree (2011), Last Man Standing (2010)) who is attracted to Dawn. Dawn (Stasi Esper) is new to the small town and unknowingly brings chaos to the people in the town. It did not take long for Dawn and Chace to get together and for Chace to discover Dawn’s super strength and supernatural abilities. Dawn is reborn once every 2000 years and she hold the key to the lycanthrope race’s survival. Werewolves are now scouring the small town to find Dawn and kill anyone in their path. Dawn’s father Henrick (Eric Roberts - The Dark Knight (2008), The Expendables (2010), Inherent Vice (2014), The Cable Guy (1996)) is a bounty hunter. Chace and Henrick work together to protect the love of their lives.
There was way too much background noise and music that made the lines/dialog hard to hear. The acting is atrocious, the screenplay is a disaster zone, editing is terrible, werewolves were a dreadful mess, shots did not transition well, terrible music, horrendous CGI, and cheesy everything. Watch this movie if you like but I warn you it will be a regrettable experience and waste of your time. You can never get by time so stay clear of this movie and watch a TV movie that will be 100% better. I would give this movie a zero, but I cannot because the lowest score on our grading system is one.
