TRON: Legacy Review

Synopsis:

The son of a virtual world designer goes looking for his father and ends up inside the digital world that his father designed. He meets his father's corrupted creation and a unique ally who was born inside the digital world.

TRON: Legacy (2010) is an American science fiction adventure film that is filled with action and is a stand-alone sequel to Tron (1982). It had an estimated budget of $170 million and grossed over $400.1 million worldwide. First-time director Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion (2013)) did an excellent job executing this film that is loved by millions around the world. The movie contains intense violence, suspense, thrills, adventures, tension and excellent CGI.

TRON: Legacy (2010) revolves around Sam (Garrett Hedlund - Unbroken (2014), Four Brothers (2005), Troy (2004)) in a virtual reality called the Grid. Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges - The Big Lebowski (1998), True Grit (2010), Iron Man (2008)) disappears shortly after he was promoted CEO of ENCOM International. The movie skips forward to twenty years later where we see Flynn’s son Sam taking little interest in the company, ENCOM, who is the primary shareholder. Sam discovered a computer in a hidden basement that teleports him to a virtual reality called the Grid that was created by his father, Flynn. It did not take long for Sam to be captured and sent to partake in a game where he has no choice but to fight a program named Rinzler.

Skip forward - Sam meets Quorra (Olivia Wilde - Rush (2013), In Time (2011), House M.D. (2004)) who rescued him from Rinzler and told him of his father’s hideout outside Clu’s territory. The movie proceeds to be a non-stop action flick with interesting scenes and excellent graphics that was a feast for my eyes. I saw this movie in 3D in the theater and have seen it many times after it released on DVD. The soundtrack was a pleasure to listen to as it blended nicely with the film perfectly. I found the storyline was not appealing and as magnificent as the imagery, visual appeal, graphics, sets and character costumes. Jeff Bridges playing the villain and hero was simply amazing, and his acting was superb. It is a movie that should be seen by everyone for the visual appeals.
