Final Destination 3 Review

Synopsis:

In this third installment of the Final Destination series, a student's premonition of a deadly rollercoaster ride saves her life and a lucky few, but not from death itself which seeks out those who escaped their fate.

Final Destination 3 (2006) is a 1h 33-min American supernatural horror film that is the third installment of the Final Destination film series. Director James Wong (Final Destination (2000), The One (2001), The X-Files (1993-2016)) did an excellent job capturing the movie from the right angles. The movie was filled with suspense, twist, stomach-turning/churning events, thrills, chills galore, action, tension, gore, horror violence, bad language, and minor nudity.

Final Destination 3 revolves around Wendy (Mary Elizabeth Winstead - 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016), Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), Smashed (2012), Live Free or Die Hard (2007)) having a vision right before the roller coaster ride she is on is about to start. Wendy was at an amusement park with her high school graduating class and was seated in the roller coaster before she had a vision. She saw a breakage in the tracks and a leak in the hydraulic system resulting in a horrific crash with cars flying everywhere and people being ripped apart. Wendy returned from her vision and realized that the roller coaster car is about to start and started screaming/crying until she was let off of the ride. Some of her friends got off of the ride with her while others stayed on the ride and teased her that she is doing that for attention.

Wendy’s vision came true, and all of the roller coaster passengers died in the tragic freak accident. The few that walked off the ride are said to have cheated death and were meant to die on the ride. Will they be able to run from death as it lurks at every corner for them? The survivors began encountering bizarre, horrifying accidents leading them to their death which is painful and disgusting

The special effects are superb when it comes to the kill scenes which are dramatic, creative, and gruesome. All of the actors did an excellent job portraying their characters who were facing unnatural deaths. I enjoyed this movie immensely at home but even more in the movie theater. I could not get over the special effects which are what won me over more than the storyline. All action fans should watch this movie with a group of friends as it is a fantastic film.
