Starz’s American Gods Season 2 is confirmed, and TV show creators Bryan Fuller and Michael Green must be thrilled. I have to admit that I did not read any of the source material written by English author Neil Gaiman, so I am watching the first season with completely fresh eyes. I am enjoying the grittiness, and I am psyched to see the Old Gods finally battle the New Gods. Season 1 will end after its short 8-episode run ending on June 18, 2017. I wish we received more episodes in season 1 because it is captivating in a slow but fascinating way. We will keep you posted once Starz’s reveals the American Gods Season 2 premiere date.
From the Press Release: "American Gods" posits a different kind of war brewing--one between Old Gods and New. The traditional Old Gods, with mythological roots from around the world, fear irrelevance as their believers die off or are seduced by the money, technology, and celebrity offered by the New Gods. Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) is an ex-con who, left adrift by the recent death of his wife, becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to conman Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane). But in truth, Mr. Wednesday is a powerful old deity, on a cross-country mission to build an army and reclaim his lost glory.
