Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries

Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries

Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries will be ‘The Year of the Originals’. Executive Producer Julie Plec shares what’s going on over in the next upcoming season 3 of The Vampire Diaries in Fall.

A couple of rumors are already buzzing on the net on what will be happening in The Vampire Diaries next upcoming Season 3:

vampire diaries

Will we meet the original Petrova girl who cursed Klaus?

The original Petrova girls’ blood is what cursed Klaus over 1000 years ago. In the "Klaus" episode, Elijah said that Catherine reminded him of someone.

Julie said on the subject, "Hopefully one day we’ll meet her. No promises, though. Too soon to tell."

What happened to Elena’s other best friend, Meredith?

In LJ Smith’s books Elena has a friend Meredith who may come to life in the next season.

Damon and Elena may be spending more time together

In season 3 of Vampire Diaries, we will see what will happen after the forgive episode. In that episode, Damon needed Elena’s forgiveness and she needed to give it to him. Does this mean that Elena is going soft on Damon once again? After Stefan loses himself, Damon is the next best instrument of protection.

Elijah and Klaus is still the focus

Julie said that the story of the originals is huge and even compares it to the Bible. That tied in with the Hybrid rules that will be touched on make the outcome of season 3 a must see.

What happens now that the sheriff knows that her daughter is a vampire and what about the love between Caroline and Tyler?

Once the mayor becomes aware of the threats we may see a Romeo and Juliet story. These parents will go to any lengths to protect their children. Tyler has come back and we will also see what that means for Caroline.

Damon has opened up to his human side

We will continue to explore the softer side of Damon now that he will take care of Elena. Damon will now move from villain to hero but expect a major bumpy road ahead.

Stefan looked like a crazed beast at the end of season 2

Forced to drink blood once more and open up to his vampire side, Stefan now has to balance the dark side else be will revert back to the monster that he is capable of becoming. Seems as though Damon and Stefan are taking a long walk in each others shows in the upcoming episodes of The Vampire Diaries.

Alaric will be a better parental figure for Jeremy and Elena

We started to see this at the end of season 2 and possibly this will be further strengthened in future episodes.

Bonnie and Jeremy will have their own twists and turns

Bonnie was told that using that type of magic goes against the laws of nature and there are consequences. For Bonnie she would have done anything but the effects on Jeremy may out way the benefits. If Vicki and Anna continue to stick around in season 3, The Vampire Diaries will have yet another love story that is out of the norm with the new love triangle being between a witch, a former dead man and a ghost. Now that is weird even for Vampire Diaries.

We can only expect to see further great things from The Vampire Diaries in Season 3. Nina even has the possibility of having to play three characters, will Stefan continue to hold his grounds on his hunger for blood, Damon and Elena possible? So many questions, let’s see what happens in Season 3.
