Sam Raimi‘s remake of The Evil Dead is now in the final stages of casting. Jane Levy (Suburgatory, Fun Size) had landed the starring role of Mia in the place of Lily Collins (Mirror, Mirror, Priest) due to “scheduling issues.”

The Evil Dead cast are Jessica Lucas (Melrose Place, Cloverfield), Elizabeth Blackmore (Legend of the Seeker) while Lucas is in talks for the role of Mia’s best friend, Olivia. Blackmore will play Natalie, David’s fiancee and Mia’s brother will be played by Shiloh Fernandez (Red Riding Hood). Eric will be played by Lou Taylor Pucci (Carriers), the dummy that reads from The Book of the Dead.
