Lou Diamond Phillips is set to star as the real life Los Angeles serial killer Richard Ramirez in the new serial killer movie The Night Stalker. The Night Stalker is currently in pre-production so news is slim but Megan Griffiths is set to direct the serial killer film. The story follows a lawyer who, “in order to save another man from execution, attempts to evoke a confession from the aging Ramirez.” That sounds kind of similar, but not totally, to The Silence of the Lambs (1991) and Dr. Hannibal Lecter so there can be a lot to work with considering the two life spans. The film will also include some of Richard Ramirez’s real life killing spree which spans from 1984 - 1985. During this killing spree, Ramirez committed 13 counts of murder and 5 attempted murders without including the other sinister crimes. The movie plot will mostly revolve around a fictional serial killer story line. Richard Ramirez died on Death Row in 2013 of lymphoma. I know I am psyched to see this film, what about you?
