Jon Bernthal revealed some news about his portrayal of The Punisher aka Frank Castle on Netflix’s Daredevil Season 2. I loved Jon Bernthal’s acting on AMC’s The Walking Dead as Shane Walsh, he never pulled his punches and did what had to be done. From this interview, it seems he intensified this quality and may give us the best Punisher in any Marvel movie or TV series. Read the Jon Bernthal’s interview excerpts below.
Jon Bernthal interview revealed his thoughts on The Punisher in Daredevil Season 2:
I think this guy lives in a world of darkness that no other person in this universe can compare with. My goal here was to put myself in that darkness and bring that up and to never pull punches, to never do half measures, to never be apologetic, to never pursue likability at all, to be completely unapologetic at all times…
You can lose the audience by episode 2. They could just be like, ‘No matter what happens with this man, no matter what we learn about him, his actions in episode 1 and 2, I can’t get behind. In this day and age, with everything going on, I can’t get behind this man.’ I love that because my goal and the team’s goal is to win them back and explain it and fill in the blanks and whether you can get behind him or not, you’ll understand him.
