Adam Green‘s Digging Up the Marrow (2014) touched the surface of a deep underworld of creatures shunned by humans and something like Clive Barker’s Nightbreed (1990) community of cabal. Adam Green spoke recently on the Digging Up the Marrow sequel which he said is probably not going to happen because the film did not profit enough to get a bigger budget for the sequel. Who knows, maybe Adam Green may crowdfund the sequel.
It is probably not going to happen . . . If 10% of the assholes who stole that movie had seen it legally and paid to see it there, 100%, would’ve been a ‘Digging up the Marrow 2.’ But that movie was pirated to all ****.
We can’t do ‘Digging up the Marrow 2’ without some sort of budget. More of a budget than we had on the first one. And the budget wasn’t a joke on the first one either.
What would the sequel have been about, Adam says:
[In] ‘Digging Up the Marrow 2? we were going to save Dekker and go down there and see more monsters and actually see the ‘marrow.’
