    As good werewolf movies go, Ginger Snaps (2000) is definitely in the top werewolf movies list. No wonder Scream Factory will be releasing the Ginger Snaps Blu-ray. Special features and extras for the Blu-ray has not been released yet but are expected this upcoming May 2014. John Fawcett‘s (Spartacus: War of the Damned, Lost Girl, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena) Ginger Snaps was originally released in 2000 and stars Emily Perkins (Ginger Snaps franchise), Katharine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps franchise, American Mary) and Kris Lemche (The Frankenstein Theory, Final Destination 3).

    Dog Soldiers (2002) is getting some werewolf love from Scream Factory as they have recently announced that the will be releasing the Dog Soldiers Blu-ray / DVD combo pack this upcoming June 24, 2014. I for one really enjoyed this horror movie and thought it was the best werewolf movie released in years. Extras will be released mid-April and if you order directly from Scream Factory, you will get a limited edition poster of the art. Full details available below.

    Scarecrow premiered on Syfy in October 2013 and will now be getting the DVD release date of February 25, 2014 courtesy of Cinedigm. Scarecrow stars Lacey Chabert (”Party of Five,” “Baby Daddy”), Robin Dunne (”Sanctuary”) and Brittney Wilson (”Bates Motel”).     News broke on the Shout! Factory facebook page that they will be releasing the French horror film Dead Shadows on Blu-ray/DVD this upcoming April 22, 2014. I haven’t gotten chance to watch this creepy horror movie but I did see the trailer and this is a film to look out for. I love that they will be including an English dubbed option for the movie so that makes it all the easier to jump in. Make sure you check it out in April.

    Inception Media Group is bringing Knight of the Dead to DVD and VOD on January 21, 2014. Knights do battle with zombies as they protect the Holy Grail from zombie hordes. Mark Atkins directs while Dylan Jones, Lee Bennett, Jason Beeston and Vivien Vilela star. I really like the synopsis and have high hopes that Knight of the Dead has something fresh to bring to the table.

    Kimberly Peirce‘s Carrie Remake did not do too well at the box office so the horror film has been pushed along to Blu-ray release. The Blu-ray/DVD release date is scheduled for this upcoming January 14, 2014 and Digital HD on January 3, 2014. The alternate ending will only be available on the Blu-ray copy of the film so there is the incentive to check Carrie out on that.

I haven’t seen this horror film yet but it is definitely making waves and should be on your radar, especially for this upcoming Halloween.

    The Colony was a good horror movie that was shot very well. I am glad to hear that the Blu-ray/DVD and Digital Download release date is scheduled for October 15, 2013. Laurence Fishburne, Bill Paxton and Kevin Zegers star in this future of ice and fierce cannibals. No mention of bonus material on the Blu-ray so far in the press release.
