Lauren Cohan is an American-born British actress born on January 7, 1982 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Her father is American, and her mother is Scottish. Lauren is 5' 7" (1.7 m) and has said in interviews that she was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey although sources stated otherwise. She has resided in Cherry Hill Township, New Jersey, and Georgia before moving to the Surrey, United Kingdom at the age of 13. Lauren was about five/seven years old when her mom remarried and their family converted to Judaism. Lauren has five younger siblings and had a Bat Mitzvah. She moved to Los Angeles, California when she was 22 years old to pursue her acting career. She earned money by working as a waitress at "The Cat & The Fiddle" restaurant on Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles.
Lauren had wanted to become a child psychologist but changed her mind when it was time to choose a college/university. She studied Drama and English Literature at the University of Winchester/ King Alfred’s College and graduated with a BA in English and Drama. She co-founded a theater company at the university and toured with them. She had to manage her time while working in London and Los Angeles, California. She has an English accent. She was a model before becoming an actress, plays the piano, does yoga and also takes kickboxing class. Her publicist is Erica Gray and makeup artist is Jamie Greenberg.

She made her first television debut in 2005 The Quiet Assassin (2005) but made her major/famous appearance in the movie industry as Sister Beatrice in 2005 Casanova. She went on to starring as Charlotte Higginson in 2006, National Lampoon's Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj and Float (2007), Death Race 2 (2010). Besides her movie roles, she was also in TV series episodes. She played Bela Talbot in season three of the CW's Supernatural series on TV and appeared in six episodes before being killed, the Winchester brothers (Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester) shared some great scenes. Her role as Bela is a thief who steals valuable supernatural things and sells them to rich people in the supernatural world. She also appeared in several episodes of CW's The Vampire Diaries as 560-year-old vampire, Rose and as sophisticated socialite Vivian Volkoff in 2011 Chuck in the series.
She plays one of the main characters, Maggie Greene on AMC's The Walking Dead and has a recurring role.
