    Unsolved Mysteries episode may have birthed the idea of Jeepers Creepers (2001) as there are some coincidences with a previous episode of the show. A true murder that occurred in Michigan in 1991 based on the story of Dennis Depue, who murdered is wife Mary and then fled the state. Short story, Depue committed suicide after the car pursuit by authorities came to a halt, his girlfriend and friends reported him.     Eli Roth to Direct ALEISTER ARCANE Horror Film Starring Jim Carrey

    Eli Roth will direct horror film Aleister Arcane with Jim Carrey set to star and executive produce. This movie will be an adaptation of Steve Niles’ 2004 comic book series of the same name where the deceased Aleister Arcane, who was previously a weatherman, then became a horror TV host who was pushed off the air by upset viewers. Carrey’s role is still to be announced, but it would be great for him to play Arcane. Steven Spielberg‘s Amblin Entertainment is moving the Aleister Arcane project forward while Jon Croker (The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death (2014)) will adapt the screen adaptation.

    STAKE LAND Sequel THE STAKELANDER Production Completed!

    The sequel to the apocalyptic vampire film Stake Land (2010) directed by Jim Mickle, news dropped today that the sequel titled The Stakelander has finished production. Connor Paolo (Martin) and Nick Damici (Mister) will reprise their roles. Dan Berk and Robert Olsen co-directed The Stakelander from a screenplay by Nick Damici, who also wrote the original Stake Land film. Syfy Channel will premiere The Stakelander at a yet to be announced date. Full details available in the press release below.

    The new board game featuring Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Board Game is coming later this year thanks to Jasco Games and Lynnvander Studios. Thomas M. Gofton (Albion’s Legacy, Deep 5) was hired to design the board game. This board game will entertain 1-6 players for 40-60 minutes. The game will release on October 28, 2016 for about $39.99.

    Fox finally announced the premiere dates for their horror TV lineup which includes The Exorcist Season 1, Scream Queens Season 2, and Lucifer Season 2. The Exorcist TV Series will make its series premiere on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 9:00 pm EST. Scream Queens Season 2, will return on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 9:00 pm EST.     The Walker Stalker Cruise 2017 officially kicks off Friday, February 3, 2017 to Monday, February 6, 2017. This horror event, The Walking Dead event, is in collaboration with The Walker Stalkers, Skybound, and Sixthman. This zombie cruise will set sail from Miami, Florida, stop in the Bahamas, then return to Florida aboard the Norwegian Pearl. Walker Stalker Cruise provides panels, Q&As, special activities, concerts, autograph signings, and photo ops plus many of the cast and crew members from AMC’s The Walking Dead TV series including Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Michael Cudlitz, Tom Payne, Greg Nicotero, and Michael Traynor. More guests will be revealed later.

    New Line Cinema pulled in $100 million worldwide for James Wan‘s The Conjuring 2 (2016) featuring Ed and Lorraine Warren, drawing on that success they announced that they will make a spinoff movie featuring The Nun, also the title of the film. James Wan will serve as the producer along with Peter Safran. David Leslie Johnson co-wrote The Conjuring 2 and will write the script for The Nun movie. There is also the sequel to Annabelle (2014) coming soon making what seems like a Conjuring cinematic universe. The ghostly nun or demonic nun, however you look at it, was a great addition to the scares and frights. Apparently, James Wan got the idea for a demon nun and reshot some scenes to include this demonic figure.
