  • The Mummy (2017) - Trailer

Universal Pictures and Alex Kurtzman's The Mummy (2017) has its very first full feature trailer. For the most part, I think they did a terrific job with this movie trailer. The slow increasing suspense in the beginning then the non-stop action pacing while building on the introduction to The Mummy. So far the direction of The Mummy looks spot on, and I cannot wait to see the next set of promo material. Sofia Boutella, Tom…

    Get Out (2017) - Trailer

Jordan Peele's Get Out (2017) is a surreal horror film that took me by surprise. This film looks intriguing and scary on a whole new level with its refreshing take on the genre. I feel like this movie will be much deeper than what we were teased here in this trailer. Get Out releases in movie theaters on February 24, 2017. Allison Williams, Keith Stanfield, and Daniel Kaluuya star in Get Out. From the Press…

  • Split (2017) - Trailer

    Split (2017) - Trailer

    M. Night Shyamalan's latest horror thriller movie comes the form of Split (2017). This trailer immediately throws you into an intense situation, a real horror thriller film. You seriously get a Norman Bates/Psycho (1960) style that has a new modern scenario, watch the trailer, and you will see my point about half way into the trailer. This man, the antagonist, has 23 cases of multiple personalities, and if that was not enough, he could change…

    Legion (2017) - San Diego Comic-Con 2016 Trailer

Noah Hawley's Legion (2017) teaser trailer was revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con 2016. This film from Marvel Comics and FX is about a superhero with immeasurable power but with that power; he suffers from mental disorders. I had to watch this trailer twice, and I have many mixed feelings about this trailer and film. Aubrey Plaza, Dan Stevens, and Katie Aselton star in Legion. Legion follows David Haller, a troubled young man who may…

During the Warner Bros. Hall H panel at the San Diego Comic-Con 2016, we also saw Guy Ritchie's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017) trailer. I grew up reading all that I could about King Arthur, and I felt as though those involved in this film also carried those feelings when they were creating this movie. Sky Sharks (2017) - Trailer

Marc Fehse's Sky Sharks (2017) trailer is upon us and looks pretty good, most thanks to special effects by Tom Savini. Horror Videos
Horror videos and movies have grown to become the longest-lasting movie genre in history. Horror videos are intended to elicit a feeling of dread, fear, or dismay. Expect the unexpected and count on an intense atmosphere that grows at a face pace. Horror videos often lull you into a sense of tranquility then suddenly create a menacing effect that jolts you out of your comfort zone. They can leave you with a vague ending, so you have the sense that the menace still remains, which is the perfect set up for a sequel. The two main subjects of horror videos are supernatural beings (vampires, phantoms, demons, etc.) or real situations and figures (serial killers, medical tragedies, etc.).

Scary Videos and Why We Love Them
The appeal of scary videos has grown over the years and with the new crop of films, such as Saw, The Strangers, Session 9, and Wes Craven's New Nightmare, the definition of horror has also evolved. These movies display more explicit gore, jump scenes, scares, and supernatural content than ever before.

But why do we love these scary videos? These movies allow us to confront our most primal fears, all in the comfort of our own home. Scary videos are terrifying, exciting, fascinating, and thrilling. The musical score adds tension, builds suspense, then releases it for a roller coaster ride our nerves love. Scary videos appeal to the basic human condition and to our attempts to overcome our fear. No matter why you love scary videos, one fact remains - we can't wait to watch the next one.
