Karyn Kusama"s The Invitation (2015) releases in movie theaters and on VOD this March 25, 2016, thanks to Drafthouse Films. The teaser trailer and poster do not entice you the way promo material should. This film is one of those horror thriller movies where it could happen. A man visits his ex-wife and her new husband for a dinner party. Sometime during the dinner party, the man and his wife realize that their hosts have sinister intentions. The Invitation stars Logan Marshall-Green, Tammy Blanchard, Michiel Huisman, Emayatzy Corinealdi, and John Carroll Lynch.

In this taut psychological thriller by Karyn Kusama (Girlfight, Jennifer"s Body), the tension is palpable when Will (Logan Marshall-Green, Prometheus) shows up to his ex-wife Eden (Tammy Blanchard, Into the Woods) and new husband, David"s (Michiel Huisman, "Game of Thrones") dinner party. The pair"s tragic past haunts an equally spooky present: Amid Eden"s suspicious behavior and her mysterious house guests, Will becomes convinced that his invitation was extended with a hidden agenda. Unfolding over one dark evening in the Hollywood Hills, The Invitation blurs layers of mounting paranoia, mystery, and horror until both Will-and the audience-are unsure what threats are real or imagined.

The Invitation Plot Synopsis:

Will and Eden were once a loving couple. After a tragedy took their son, Eden disappeared. Two years later, out of the blue, she returns with a new husband... and as a different person, eerily changed and eager to reunite with her ex and those she left behind. Over the course of a dinner party in the house that was once his, the haunted Will is gripped by mounting evidence that Eden and her new friends have a mysterious and terrifying agenda. But can we trust Will's hold on reality? Or will he be the unwitting catalyst of the doom he senses?
