Alien 3 (1992) Review
David Fincher directed Alien 3 (1992) was nominated for 1 Oscar Award, 5 movie award wins, and 20 more movie nominations. This film was filmed with an estimated movie budget of $50 million and grossed $55.4 million at the US box office.
Alien 3 follows Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) once more. Ripley is now in a maximum security prison on Fiorina Fury 161. Ripley is again trying to survive an Alien/Xenomorph outbreak. The difference this time, Ripley brought the Alien outbreak with her, but how?
Alien 3 suffers from a breakneck pacing. Also, the human characters are mostly bald, most of the character deaths just feature a cool death without the viewer impacted nor story.
The film shows that a proper script and direction was lacking. After Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), the anticipation was high and Alien 3 was a letdown, it should have been better. The sets were unremarkable, and Ripley had been through most of these scenarios already. A lower point in the Alien franchise that you should watch just to mark not notch on your belt. Alien 3 is watchable but lower your expectations.
