The experiences continue to intensify, and they begin to be physically beaten by their visions as they try and go deeper into the death experience to find a cure.
Flatliners (1990) Review
Flatliners (1990) is directed by Joel Schumacher as drama, horror, sci-fi movie. Flatliners was nominated for 1 Oscar Award and nominated for 2 other awards. Flatliners had an estimated $26 million movie budget and received $61.4 million at the US box office.
Kiefer Sutherland plays a medical student who successfully persuades his classmates Julia Roberts and Kevin Bacon to take part in a reckless experiment as they all flatline together at different intervals. Testing the theory of life after death, the classmates kill themselves by temporarily shutting down, flatlining their heart and brain to experience clinical death briefly. Sutherland goes first and experiences death for himself, each of the other classmate’s flatline for an increasingly longer period. All is good until they start to realize that something came back with them as punishment for cheating death.
Flatliners is full of chilling suspense, thrills, fear, and redemption. I enjoyed watching this film throughout. I felt the thrill that the cast felt as they cheated death. Then, I felt the terror as they were hunted later in the film. Flatliners tackles many genres that are hard to juggle very well. Every horror fan is recommended to watch this film.
