Synopsis:An alien parasite with the ability to possess human bodies goes on a violent crime spree in LA, pursued by a human cop and an alien cop inhabiting a human body.
The Hidden (1987) is an American science fiction crime horror movie. The movie was filmed in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York, USA; Los Angeles, California, USA and Park Plaza Hotel, Los Angeles, California, USA. Director Jack Sholder (Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies (1999), Alone in the Dark (1982), A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985)) did a fantastic job executing this awesome movie. The Hidden contains sexual references with brief blurred nudity, bad language, drug use, suspense and violence.
The Hidden is about an alien that can hop from one body to another by entering the person’s mouth. Jack DeVries (Chris Mulkey - First Blood (1982), Mysterious Skin (2004), The Purge (2013)) made the Los Angeles police go on a high-speed chase after he killed all of the security guards in the Wells Fargo bank and robbed it. He killed motorist on the road and some police officers by forcing them off the road while in their vehicle. Jack did not foresee a police blockade setup by Detective Sgt. Thomas Beck (Michael Nouri - The Proposal (2009), The Terminal (2004), Finding Forrester (2000)) in front of him. Jack crashes his Ferrari after being shot numerous times by the officers. He was arrested and taken to the hospital where the doctors told Detective Thomas and his partner Detective Cliff Willis (Ed O’Ross - Universal Soldier (1992), Red Heat (1988), Full Metal Jacket (1987)) that Jack is not going survive to see the morning. The movie got even more interesting when Jack is found dead on his hospital room floor, and his roommate is missing.
All horror fans must watch this 1980’s hidden gem horror movie. The technologies used in movies today are not used anywhere in this sci-fi thriller classic. The movie is fast-paced and has action that makes it even better. There is a huge body count with awesome acting and characters that we get connected to. The creepy moments and fun comedy moments are well blended. Bottomline - see this movie - you would not be disappointed.
