Iron Man Plot Synopsis:

Tony Stark. Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist. Son of legendary inventor and weapons contractor Howard Stark. When Tony Stark is assigned to give a weapons presentation to an Iraqi unit led by Lt. Col. James Rhodes, he's given a ride on enemy lines. That ride ends badly when Stark's Humvee that he's riding in is attacked by enemy combatants. He survives - barely - with a chest full of shrapnel and a car battery attached to his heart. In order to survive he comes up with a way to miniaturize the battery and figures out that the battery can power something else. Thus Iron Man is born. He uses the primitive device to escape from the cave in Iraq. Once back home, he then begins work on perfecting the Iron Man suit. But the man who was put in charge of Stark Industries has plans of his own to take over Tony's technology for other matters.

Iron Man (2008) Review

Iron Man (2008) is a 2h 6-min American science fiction superhero film that contains adventure, action, thrills and is the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The movie had an estimated budget of $140 million and grossed over $585.2 million. Director Jon Favreau (Iron Man 2 (2010), Iron Man 3 (2013), Chef (2014)) excelled in executing this superhero adventure movie.

Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr. - The Avengers (2012), Iron Man 3 (2013), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)) is a genius and billionaire who inherited the defense contractor Stark Industries from his father. Shark was severely wounded while demonstrating the new "Jericho" missile but was saved by Yinsen (Shaun Toub) who grafted an electromagnet into his chest to prevent the shrapnel shell shards from reaching his heart which will kill him. Stark eventually escapes from his captures which resulted in his new friend/savior, Yinsen’s injuries. Tony began building a new suit and a more powerful arc reactor for his chest.

Tony later learned at a charity event that his company’s weapons and missiles are in the hands of his previous captures, and they plan on attacking Yinsen’s home village, Gulmira with those weapons. Skip forward - Tony’s send his personal assistant Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow - Se7en (1995), Iron Man 3 (2013), Iron Man 2 (2010)) to hack into Stane’s company computer system. What happens next is a nonstop adventure with tons of action between Tony and his newfound enemies.

The filming crew did a fantastic job picking the perfect cast which made this movie all the better. All of the actors gave top notch performances that were realistic and convincing. Iron Man is a high impact superhero movie that every type of fan should enjoy because it was expansively entertaining with brilliant special effects and it was full of fresh energy with a stylistic polish. I was however disappointed with a few things, and one is how did Tony’s enemies learn how to use the suit? The sets were amazingly impressive sets as well as the mechanics that works smoothly together with the CGI. The movie is not original, but it works because it had enough pizzazz to carry it out.
