Seed of Chucky Plot Synopsis:

The killer doll is back! Glen, the orphan doll offspring of the irrepressible devilish-doll-come-to-life Chucky and his equally twisted bride Tiffany. When production starts on a movie detailing the urban legend of his parents' lethal exploits, Glen heads for Hollywood where he brings his bloodthirsty parents back from the dead. The family dynamics are far from perfect as Chucky and Tiffany go Hollywood and get rolling on a new spree of murderous mayhem; much to gentle Glen's horror. Chucky can't believe that his child doesn't want to walk in his murdering footsteps, and star-struck Tiffany can't believe that the movie will star her favorite actress, Jennifer Tilly, who soon becomes an unwitting hostess to this new family in more ways than one...

Seed of Chucky (2004) Review

Director Don Mancini‘s Seed of Chucky (2004) took Chucky the Doll into a more comedic tone, and that was okay with me. The outright comedy if from Chucky becoming a father and all that ensues. The Seed of Chucky had an estimated movie budget of $12 million and grossed $17 million at the US box office.

Brad Dourif (voice of Chucky) and Jennifer Tilly (voice of Tiffany / Jennifer Tilly) returned to the Chucky franchise once more to greet their new child Glen/Glenda (voiced by Billy Boyd). The odd part about this plot is that Glen resurrects his parents after some time as an attraction at a freak show. At the same time, a movie is underway in Hollywood depicting the Chucky’s murder spree.

Chucky’s son wants to fit in and starts to male bond with his father. Red Man shows a guest appearance as well. They want to become a real family, not made of plastic until Chucky gets pissed off and goes after his wife and son. They attack, and Chucky is once again killed in a weird and cool way. However, we all know you can’t really kill the star of the show.

I enjoyed the bonding scenes, the hijinks, and way each actor played off of each others performance. The comedy was there in a terrific way. The special effects and story were all very amusing. I like how the ending played off too; it was the right fit to end the film. Overall, watch this film, it revamps the Chucky franchise to be more than just a doll slasher film.
