Matrix, The Review

A computer hacker learns from mysterious rebels about the true nature of his reality and his role in the war against its controllers.

The Matrix is without a doubt the most influential movie in recent years. Any movie where the Hero wears all black leather and shades or whenever you see the scene slow down so that you can actually see bullets flying and fast movement are shown in detail you are seeing a direct influence from this mind blowing epic. This movie will amaze anyone who lays their eyes on it.

Not too many people will get the idea behind the plot of the Matrix. I will try to break it down. We start out with the character Thomas A. Anderson who is a computer Hacker known as Neo. He is having strange dreams and feels that he searches for Morpheus, the man who has all the answers. When he meets Morpheus, he gives him a choice by way of two pills the Red and blue pill. The red pill shows him the truth while the blue pill will just lead him back to his old life. We all know which pill he takes, but the pill is a tracking device that finds his location in the real world. Before you see that he lived in a regular world like the one we have known all our lives. Now wakes up in a pod and he sees other people just like him asleep in a pod just like him. Neo is then picked up by the crew of the Nebudchnezer. After his rest, he wakes up and is strapped to a machine where he looks just like he did before but the room is empty and Morpheus explains what the Matrix is. The Matrix is a computer program that has all human beings connected where they live their everyday lives unaware of what’s going on in the world today. The real world is a dark cold and desolated land controlled by machines. The machines and Human once had a war, and they depended on the sun for energy. Humans decided to block the sun by causing a dark cloud to shroud all the earth. The Human body contains a source of energy since our bodies run on electrical pulses. This lead to the Matrix being created and all Humans are kept under control so that they may be used as an energy source. It all started with one man who broke free and started the resistance. Morpheus believes that Neo is the one who started it all reincarnates and is here to save all mankind. If you can understand all that then, by all means, go watch it.

At first I was not willing to give this movie a chance but once I did, oh my God!! Confusing plot aside this film is pure eye candy. It has everything you need Guns, Explosions and Kung Fu actions, who can ask for more. The lobby scene was pure genius. I thought it was one of the coolest things I had ever seen. Hugo Weaving was the breakthrough star here for his role as agent Smith; he did an outstanding job in my opinion. This was a very memorable film and really opened up my mind to a lot of different things. It made me realize that there is so much to life that I still don’t understand. For a movie to do that it has to be the greatest of all time.
