Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010)
Tucker and Dale vs Evil Plot Synopsis:Two lovable hillbillies are headed to their "fixer-upper" vacation cabin to drink some beer, do some fishin', and have a good time. But when they run into a group of preppy college kids who assume from their looks that they must be in-bred, chainsaw-wielding killers, Tucker & Dale's vacation takes a bloody and hilarious turn for the worse.
Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010) Review
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2010) is a 1h 29-min Canadian-American comedy horror movie that had an estimated budget of $5 million and was filmed in Alberta, Canada. Director and co-writer Eli Craig (Zombieland (2013), The Tao of Pong (2004), Space Cowboys (2000)) did an excellent job executing one of the greatest comedy horror movies I have seen. The plot moves fast and so will your laughter as you will find yourself laughing a whole lot throughout the film. There was a lot of horror cliches in this movie, but the movie had enough to stand out from the rest. The movie contains sexual humor/innuendo, graphic deaths, violence, gore, bad language, tension, frightening/intense scenes, and brief nudity.
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil revolve around hillbillies Tudyk and Labine, who were mistaken for murders by a group of college students. Tucker (Alan Tudyk - I, Robot (2004), Frozen (2013), Serenity (2005), Wreck-It Ralph (2012)) purchased a fixer upper cabin in the woods that would be his place to get away from it all. Tucker and Dale (Tyler Labine - Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), Monsters University (2013), The Boss (2016)) decide to go to the cabin for a little rest and relaxation, but that is not what they got. Tucker and Dale went fishing in the lake nearby while some college kids decide to go skinny dipping in the same lake. Allison (Katrina Bowden -
30 Rock (2006-2013), American Reunion (2012), Sex Drive (2008)) hits her head after accidentally falling into the water resulting in a chain of events that will keep you on your toes.
Tyler Labine’s performance of the character Dale was on point, and it is his performance that will hold your attention throughout the film. Alan Tudyk’s performance as Tucker was equally impressive and it was magical to see Dale and Tucker interact. Katrina Bowden’s performance as Allison was superb and all three main actors/characters could not have done a better job. Writers Morgan Jurgenson and Eli Craig did wonders by writing a top-notch script by keeping the focus on the sharp plot and balancing everything. Eli Craig did not stray from his writing when it came down to directing his film. Tucker and Dale vs. Evil is good as Shaun Of The Dead (2004), but I do not think it will get the recognition it deserves.
