Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013) Review

Insidious 2 was truly amazing; it is definitely worth watching at any cost. I love every bit of it and jumped multiples times. Director James Wan did a great job with Insidious: Chapter 2 which had a great continuation from Insidious part 1. James Wan is a great horror director and The Conjuring is proof to that. The storyline flows very well. I did not expect the father, Josh (Patrick Wilson) to play such a huge role in this movie and for everything to revolve around him.

The father went through so much in Insidious 1 to get back his son’s essence that was trapped in a realm called "The Further". Chapter 2 takes you back to Insidious 1 and shows us why the door opened behind the Lamberts son while he was hypnotized which was incredible to me. I love the fact that the director took us back to the first movie and showed us why certain things happened, it was beautifully planned and well executed.

The Bride in Black was a shocker to me and once again the back story explaining the Bride in Black was pure genius. Insidious Chapter 2 is way more terrifying than the first movie. The scene where all the scary people came out of the closet kind of spooked me out. I felt terrible for the mother, Renai (Rose Byrne) when she was harmless to everyone and she is so caring but she got tossed around the room and knocked out by this evil woman in white. Another thing I like about this movie is the dice play, every time the dice was rolled, I tried to guess the words before it was said or displayed correctly – you have to watch this movie to know what I am talking about.

If I had to choose between the first movie and the second movie, I would choose Insidious 2 all the way. Love the suspense, tensions, thrills, excitement, jumping out of my seat and wincing feeling. With that said I would recommend very little eating popcorn and drinking during the movie because your neighbors might not like popcorn flying in their direction :-). The movie introduces us to a new family at the ending which makes me hope that there is a part three to this, can’t wait.
