Curse of Chucky Review

After her mother's mysterious death, Nica begins to suspect that the talking, red-haired doll her visiting niece has been playing with may be the key to recent bloodshed and chaos.

My expectations was not high for Curse of Chucky. I do love Chucky and his movies but my expectation was low mainly because it is known for Chucky to kill people. Director Don Mancini (Seed of Chucky) did an amazing job with Curse of Chucky. This movie contains gore, decapitation, suspense, jump out of your seat scenes, electrocutions, empty eyeball socket, eyeball rolling down the stairs and some twists that are very interesting.

Nica (Fiona Dourif) played her role very well in Curse of Chucky. I believe she was the best actress in this movie. I loved the fact that she was disabled and fought to save her entire family regardless of what was in her way. Nica was faced with a dilemma after her mother’s death which involved ownership of the house she currently resides in. Nica’s problem is eventually solved but with no help from her at all and is admitted to a psych ward at the end of the movie. Watch Curse of Chucky to see how Nica’s problems is solved.

I was on the edge of my seat when everyone was having dinner with the Priest. I was not sure who was going to receive the plate with the rat poison and was terrified that the little girl, Alice (Summer H. Howell) might receive it. The dinner scene was full of suspense because there was no seating assignment and the plates was already placed on the table.

I totally love the ending of the movie, especially when Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) tells Nica why he is there to kill all members of her family and the backstory of it all. It all started because he had a crush on Nica’s mother, Sarah (Chantal Quesnelle - Paradise Falls, Blue Mountain State) who was pregnant with Nica. Chucky was infatuated with Sarah and wanted to be with her and her kids but when he couldn’t have her, revenge was needed on all that interfered. I was sad to learn that Nica was disabled before she was even born and Chucky did it to her. Also loved when Ian (Brennan Elliott -The Silencer, G-Saviour) told his wife, Barb (Danielle Bisutti - Insidious: Chapter 2) that he placed a camera in their daughters teddy bear and saw her with the nanny, Jill (Maitland McConnell) . I actually thought that Ian was cheating on his wife with their nanny but instead, the wife was cheating on her husband with the nanny.

Please wait until after credits for extra scenes. I actually cannot wait for the next Chucky movie because I really think it will have Alice in it and she will play a major role.
