Dark Touch Plot Synopsis:

In a remote town in Ireland, eleven-year-old Niamh finds herself the sole survivor of a bloody massacre that killed her parents and younger brother. Suspecting a gang of homicidal vandals, the police ignore Niamh's explanation that the house is the culprit. To help ease her trauma, dutiful neighbors Nat and Lucas take her in with the supervision of a social worker. Niamh has trouble finding peace with the wholesome and nurturing couple, and horrific danger continues to manifest.

Dark Touch (2013) Review

Dark Touch is about a little girl name Niamh/Neve (Missy Keating - The Sea) who kills every foster/adopted family she lives with. I am not sure if she kills intentionally or not. The movie doesn’t really contain much information or portray why she kills. I would of loved it if director and writer Marina de Van (Hop-o’-My-Thumb, Don’t Look Back, In My Skin) had an intro to this movie saying why Niamh/Neve kills everyone she lives with and does so much harm to all around her. I know that her family was slaughtered/killed in front of her and she is the only survivor but why does she kill her adopted parents who tries to help her? Niamh/Neve can move things with her mind and killed some of the families she lived with by sticking them in the neck with a knife, credenza in the leg, pencils, set them on fire, etc.

Dark touch contains, lots of gore, suspense, thrills, great actors and actresses, child abuse, lots of deaths, creepy, gloomy scenes, and lots of loose ends.

So the movie went from Niamh/Neve killing her adopted parents to her controlling kids. She gets a group of kids to go into the school at night and then has the school collapse on top of the kids which results in their deaths. She attends a birthday party where she saw the little girls sitting on the lawn playing abusively with their dolls so Niamh/Neves decides to set the dolls on fire and controls the little girls mind to touch the hot burnt plastic. All her actions makes me think, does hurting people amuse her in some sort of way, is that her joy and happiness?

This movie somewhat bothers me a great deal because there is this little girl who commits so much killing. She kills kids and adults alike. One scene I did not get is when it seems like she was bathing the adults in blood in the bath tub with the help of children that I think she controls and then has the adults sit at the dinner table and then sets them on fire. Dark Touch ended there and left me wondering, did the kids escape or were they also killed with the parents.

Dark Touch so reminds me of the movie Carrie. What reminds me of Carrie is that she also kills abusive parents of kids from her school. Niamh/Neves also kills kids who are mean to her and the movie contains lots of gore and death like Carrie. Dark Touch also made me think of all the shooting and violence that happens in our schools today and child abuse. This is one movie that I did not feel sympathy for the actress and she is a kid. I really don’t like movies where young kids kill adults and kids but I do have an open mind.
