Resolution Plot Synopsis:

Soon-to-be-a-dad Michael makes a last ditch effort to save his longtime but addicted friend Chris from a foreseeable drug related death. Visiting Chris and handcuffing him to an exposed plumbing pipe, Michael forces his buddy into detox, but while watching over his friend he also discovers that all is not right within the territory Chris has drifted into. Situated on Indian Reservation land, the area seems to attract a number of strange people. Someone or some thing has a longtime interest in recording activities in the area, all captured on a variety of recording devices (CDs, film, phonographs, etc.). Michael comes to understand he's been pulled into the latest "story" of an unseen entity, one with a grizzly resolution projected for him and his pal unless they can possibly work out their own agreeable alternate ending.

Resolution (2012) Review

The trailer for Resolution (2012) was respectably well made and it left me anxious to see this movie. Resolution is directed by Justin Benson (Spring, A.M., Wrecked) and Aaron Scott Moorhead (For the Motherland, A Glaring Emission). The directors executed this movie well and to the point. Resolution contains violence and bad language which happens mostly in the beginning of the movie. There is also drug use and it shows meth being smoked through a pipe.

Resolution is about two best friends who live in different cities after one of them got married. Michael Danube (Peter Cilella - Screwed, Zombie Break Room, Good News, Oklahoma!) is a professional graphic designer who is married to Jennifer (Emily Montague - The Money Shot, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Fright Night) and is a soon to be dad. Michael receives an email from his friend Chris Daniels (Vinny Curran - Machine Head, Dollars to Donuts, LARPers) who is now a delusional junkie. Michael decides to go help his friend overcome his drug addiction although Jennifer objects to it. Michael finds Chris sitting on a rooftop rambling about different things while shooting a pistol. Michael finally gets close to his friend and decides to taser and handcuff him to a pipe while he goes out grocery shopping. Upon Michaels return, he see’s Chris trying to cut through the handcuffs with a toothbrush and realizes that Chris needs a lot of help. I found it funny when Michael zaps Chris with the taser after Chris says no to going to a rehab.

Micah and Billy returned for the drugs that Chris is holding for them and meets Michael. Chris warns Michael that they should not mess with Micah and Billy because they are dangerous and that he no longer has the drugs. Michael later learns that Chris did not send him the email after they found several strange photos and film footages. Michael also finds a book left on their doorstep that contains scary campfire stories but he decided to return it to the library where he finds something else (watch the movie to find out). Michael believes that Micah and Billy is playing a prank on them and is leaving things for them to find to scare them. What happens next (once again watch the movie to find out the rest of this entertaining story) is what made me give Resolution a score of 7. This is an amazing movie and I would recommend horror fans to watch this movie. It is entertaining and full of suspense. It is different from other movies and the ending is awesome.
