A Haunted House Plot Synopsis:

In October 2012 a video footage is found at the home of Malcolm Johnson and the recordings are still unexplained. Past this prologue a story in flashback form unfolds. During the summer of 2012, Malcolm and Kisha move in together and start a happy life. One night Kisha notices a few unexplained phenomena that convince her their house is haunted by ghosts. To allay her fears Malcom hires a camera crew to film inside the house day and night. A few nights later Malcom and Keisha have sex on camera, despite Keisha's protests at being filmed. Upon reviewing the sex tape the next day, Malcom and Keisha notice a few paranormal phenomena caught on tape. Malcom wants to sell the house but the housing market is slow. Therefore, Malcom decides to hire a psychic to come to the house and investigate. After Kisha confesses to making a deal with the devil for a pair of shoes things start to make sense but it doesn't solve the problems caused by the paranormal phenomena.

A Haunted House (2013) Review

Marlon Wayans is the co-writer of A Haunted House and the first movies in the Scary Movie franchise, so it does not surprise me that I did not enjoy this movie, as well. The only movie/TV series I enjoyed from Marlon was Soul Train Comedy Awards (1993) and In Living Color (1992). Marlon is also a producer and actor in A Haunted House. He plays the role of Malcolm who brings all the comedy to life in this horror comedy movie. The comedy saves this movie and is the reason I gave it a three or else it would have gotten a one. The movie does have comedy that will make you burst out laughing. Marlon over-killed the nude butt scenes.

A Haunted House is a dark humor horror comedy film that I will not see again. I do not recommend A Haunted House to younger viewers because there is a lot of suggested sexual content that teenagers should not even see. A Haunted House contains too many sexual content that involves some nudity, profanity, little violence, drug use etc. There is no suspense or frightening scares. Michael Tiddes did a poor job at executing this movie and that may be to his lack of experience in directing. He only directed one previous movie, Crawl Space in 2007.

Malcolm (Marlon Wayans - The Heat, Marmaduke, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) prepares for his girlfriend Kisha (Essence Atkins - Another Stateside, Holiday Road Trip, Dysfunctional Friends) to move in with him. Everything was going fine until upon Kisha’s arrival. First thing she does is run over Malcolm’s dog and kills him. A lot of paranormal activity started to happen and Kisha finally confesses to Marlon that she has made a deal with the Devil for a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes. Is the house possessed or is Kisha’s devil haunting them for his payment?

There’s not much to say about this movie except that it is a stupid funny horror comedy. I was shocked at some moments in this movie. I was shocked at the maid’s scene on the table and around the table after the cameras were installed. I never saw a movie where a person washes their genital area with bleach, gasoline, comet powder detergent and other things not meant for that area of the body.
