Mr. Jones Info
Mr. Jones Review
Synopsis:A young couple moves to the woods and soon finds their nightmares and reality colliding.
I would not recommend this movie to horror fans because it is not as good as I had expected it to be. It is a found footage film that is very creepy, but yet has no thrills. Director and writer Karl Mueller (Where the Devil Hides, The Divide, Widow) needs to step away from found footage films and progress his inexperience in the movie industry with real horror films. Mr. Jones contains two uses of the “F” word, frightening images, intimacy but no nude scenes.
The best character in this movie is Mr. Jones (Mark Steger - The Diabolical, The Pact II, I Am Legend). He is one of the reasons this movie did not score less than a five. The first half of the movie had potential and captured my interest a little since it was a documentary on nature until the second half when the director tried to rush all the scare’s he can get into the movie.
The movie is about a young couple where the wife dropped everything (friends, family, their comfortable home and career) to support her depressed husband in filming his documentary in the woods. Everything was going as planned and Penny (Sarah Jones - Alcatraz, Still Green) was seeing the man return that she once fell in love with. Scott (Jon Foster - Stay Alive, The Informer, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) was doing what he came out there to do and it feels like they were in a fantasy dream. That did not last long because Scott began weaning himself off his anti-depressant pills which resulted in him being verbally abusive and stopping his documentary.
Scott and Penny found Mr.Jones workshop one day and entered a world that they wish they had never met because there seems to be no escape. Penny believes that they have stumbled upon the famous Mr. Jones. Scott left Penny alone in the cabin and flew to NY to interview some people that may have knowledge about Mr. Jones. Will anything happen to Penny while she is alone in the cabin? Only one way to find out.
Some people may like this movie, but I personally will not watch it again. I absolutely love the scenery in this movie, it can be because I love the outdoors.
