Transformers: Age of Extinction Review

Autobots must escape sight from a bounty hunter who has taken control of the human serendipity: Unexpectedly, Optimus Prime and his remaining gang turn to a mechanic, his daughter, and her back street racing boyfriend for help.

Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) is the fourth installment of the science fiction action Transformers film series. It is the sequel to Transformers: Dark of the Moon - this movie takes place five years after the Chicago invasion. The human cast is a whole new cast, and this movie is the first of its series to feature the Dinobots. Some Transformers that returned to this movie are Optimus Prime, Brains, Bumblebee, Ratchet and Leadfoot. Director Michael Bay (Armageddon, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) did an incredibly good job directing this movie. I look forward to seeing more movies from Michael Bay. Age of Extinction contains sexual references that kids might not understand, violence, tons of bad name calling, suspense and intense scenes.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is a continuation from Transformers: Dark of the Moon. It has shape-shifting alien robots that smash each other and enemies. Director Bay wasted no time introducing the new Dinobots. Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg - Boogie Nights, The Fighter, Lone Survivor, Prisoners) is a honest single-father and a struggling inventor that runs a fix it service. Cade and his friend/partner Luca Flannery (T.J. Miller - Cloverfield, How to Train Your Dragon, She’s Out of My League, Unstoppable) buy a big debris covered truck. They take it back to the shop because Cade wants to strip it for parts hoping that he can make enough money to send his daughter Tessa (Nicola Peltz - The Last Airbender, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Affluenza) to college. As Cade was about to strip the old truck, Optimus Prime transforms into his autobot shape. Cade was ecstatic and shocked out of his mind as he realized that it is Optimus Prime. Cade repairs injured Optimus as Lucas alerts the Cemetery Wind unknowing to Cade about the robot they have. Cemetery Wind is a CIA group from the government and has orders to destroy all Autobots and Decepticons. Cemetery Winds and his group arrive and threaten Tessa, Lucas and Cade to tell them where Optimus is. Optimus attacked the group as Lucas, and his crew is rescued by Tessa’s secret boyfriend.

Watch this incredible but long movie to see what it is all about - you will not be disappointed. It was creepy in the scene in the Arctic where mankind discovers the Dinobots fossil. Transformers: Age of Extinction grossed the highest opening for movies in 2014 - $100,038,000 on its opening weekend in the USA. The movie grossed $301.3 million on the first weekend worldwide. The movie was filmed in Monument Valley, Detroit, Utah, and Michigan - those locations were used as a stand-in set for Hong Kong. Filming locations in Chicago and Illinois was dressed to look like a city in China.

The scenes where Tessa is climbing a rope, we see dogs climbing behind her and then we do not see the dogs in the next scene.

Tessa falls out twice when Lockdown’s ship was pulling up the SUV.

Transformers: Autobots

Peter Cullen - Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots. Optimus transforms into a rusty Marmon 97 semi truck and later in the movie into a blue and red Western Star 4900 Phantom Custom semi-trailer truck. Optimus has lost his faith in humanity and considers leaving the planet until Cade restored his faith in humanity.

Mark Ryan - Bumblebee is an Autobot scout that transforms into a modified 1967 Camaro and later in the movie into a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro concept.

John Goodman - Hound is an Autobot Commando that transforms into an Oshkosh Defense Medium Tactical Vehicle.

John DiMaggio - Crosshairs is an Autobot paratrooper that transforms into a green 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray.

Robert Foxworth - Ratchet is an Autobot medical officer that transforms into a light green Rescue Hummer H2.

Reno Wilson - Brains is an Autobot that was a Decepticon drone.
