Synopsis:Jill's an artist. Adam's a filmmaker. And their love life is off the chain. There's no experience too wild...
SxTape (2013), aka Sx_Tape (2013), is an American found footage horror film that failed terribly. The movie was filmed in Los Angeles, California, USA. Bernard Rose (Candyman (1992), Immortal Beloved (1994), Mr. Nice (2010)) directed, edited, and photographed this movie that he had high expectations for. The trailer for this movie was beautifully done, and it made me anxious to see this movie. I was mad after seeing this movie because it was a waste of my time; all the good parts were put into the trailer. Jill (Caitlyn Folley - Speak (2004), Happy Endings (2005), The FP (2011)) and Adam (Ian Duncan - The Mists of Avalon (2001), Blood River (2009), Creep (2004)) are a young couple that decides to make a sex tape in a hospital that has been abandoned for years. Hmmm, to their surprise, the hospital is not at all abandoned as they thought it to be.
SxTape starts out by showing us Jill with a detective who is telling her that her boyfriend Adam is dead, and two other people are missing. The movie then jumps to Adam videotaping Jill in an effort to turn it into a movie while capturing her paintings as well. Adam wants to film a sex tape but Jill insists that she does not. Adam still attempts to video him and Jill being intimate in various locations. Jill and Adam saw an abandoned hospital while driving, and Adam tells her that he would like to have an art exhibit of Jills artwork there. Jill agrees for them to check out the abandoned hospital that once gave abortions to a mass number of women. Adam persuades Jill for him to tie her down to the examination table and for him to pretend that he is examining her. Adam leaves the room for a second, and a female ghost takes possession of Jill’s body. Jill agrees to be intimate with Adam when he return and later on calls her friend Ellie (Diana García - The Air I Breathe (2007), Sin Nombre (2009), What Maisie Knew (2012)) to pick them up after they had found their car was towed. If you would like to find out what happens next, then watch this movie. I recommend you to save your time and watch something way more entertaining and pertaining to horror if you’re a horror fan.
This is a low budget film that shows unlike some low budget films that exceed all expectations and do very well. The character makes no sense what-so-ever, makes terrible decisions and the plot reeks. I kept on waiting for the movie to get to the good part, and it never happened. It was very boring and daunting to watch.
