Buck Wild Review
Synopsis:A hunting vacation goes horribly awry for 4 friends after they accidentally shoot the lease's land owner.
Buck Wild (2013) is an American comedy zombie horror movie that was filmed in Goliad, Texas, USA. Director Tyler Glodt (The Possession (2012), The Eves (2012), Murder Jeans (2012)) needs to improve on his directing skills because this movie had potential. I have only seen one good movie from director Tyler so far, and I am not expecting to see anymore. He needs more training or needs to co-direct with someone to gain more experience. The movie contains a little tension, no suspense, no frightening scenes and the comedy was not there for me.
Four friends are faced with doing whatever it takes to save their lives in rural Texas when they encounter zombies on a hunting trip. Craig Thompson (Matthew Albrecht - The Artist (2011), Listen to Your Heart (2010), Bunnyman (2011)) is an uptight guy that is related to Jerry (Jarrod Pistilli) who is from New York. Tom Alexander (Dru Lockwood - The Right Shape (2011), The Man in the Glass Case (2010), Shuffle (2011)) is a nerd and Lance (Isaac Harrison - Trust Me (2014), Curious (2009), Resurrecting the Champ (2007)) is a pleasure seeker. The four friends arrive at their destination to find out that their guide Clyde was bitten by a chupacabra. They did not know that Clyde was turning into a zombie
The group reaches their cabin but after a few events, Clyde took his daughter and left the four friends by themselves. Craig accidently shot Clyde while hunting and Jerry figures out that Clyde has to be a zombie since he did not die after being hit with several bullets. The rest of the movie involves the zombie disappearing, and some of the friends went looking for it. One of the friends knocks a police down making him unconscious because the officer wants to see what is in the trunk. One of the friends turns into a zombie and chaos broke loose as if it did not already.
I would not recommend horror fans or zombies fans to watch this movie because it will disappoint you. The comedy was not there although it was meant to be a comedy horror movie. The zombie was not scary and it lacked suspense. The set was okay, but it needed more pizzazz. I gave this movie a four because I like zombie movies and I had nothing else to do than watch this movie late night on Netflix.
