The Culling Review
Synopsis:A terrifying supernatural thriller in which a group of college friends on a road trip find themselves fighting off dark forces at a remote farmhouse after a chance encounter with a strange little girl.
The Culling (2015) is an American thriller horror movie that is 81 minutes long. Director and writer Rustam Branaman (The Rapture (1991), Another Happy Tear (2000), The Girl Gets Moe (1997), Headless Body in Topless Bar (1995)) failed at executing this movie. Rustman is an actor, and I think it is in his best interest to stay in acting and throw directing aside. The movie was utterly horrible and had one too many plot holes.
The Culling is about a group of friends who end up in a nightmarish hell when they decide to help a little girl crying for help. The movie starts out by showing us Emily (Elizabeth Di Prinzio - The Devil Within (2010), Amped (2004), The Wanderer (2006)) and her friend Sean (Brett Davern) chatting on the internet. They were trying to scare each other by telling each other the scariest ghost stories they know and showing each other scary images. Soon after, nurse Emily and her friends, Hank (Chris Coy), drug addict Amanda (Linsey Godfrey), ex-boyfriend Tyler (Jeremy Sumpter) and Sean wanted to have a fun filled weekend. On their way to have fun, they came across a little girl that is crying and is lost. The friends decide to take the little girl Lucy (Harley Graham - Thor (2011), Chasing Mavericks (2012), The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011), Super Buddies (2013)) home. They found no one in Lucy’s home and decide to wait until her family got home, but they never made it home. The friends got stuck taking care of Lucy for the night after her mother got into an accident. The friends soon find out that they are not alone in the house as they hear strange, eerie noises. Amanda and Lucy disappeared from the house, and now the friends are in a frenzy.
The Culling is a cliche and did it in the worst way possible. The movie totally reeks, and I am ever so sorry that I wasted my time and watched this movie. It was a total bore, and I never watched the time so many times before while watching a movie as I did during this movie. Please stay clear of this movie because there is always something better to do than watch a daunting dreadful boring movie. The set, acting, sounds, lighting effect and everything about the movie was a total failure.
