Dead Rising: Watchtower Info
Dead Rising: Watchtower Review
Synopsis:A group of people fight to survive in a zombie-infested town.
Dead Rising: Watchtower (2015) is an American action horror thriller zombie movie that is based on the video game with the same name from Capcom. The movie is 118 minutes long and was filmed in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. First time director Zach Lipovsky has directed many TV series episodes and has experience in the visual aspects of the movie industry. He is also an actor, producer, editor; writer does other jobs in the movie industry. The movie contains adult sexual reference/language, bad language, violence, blood, intense moments, zombies and minor frightening scenes.
Dead Rising: Watchtower revolves around the exploits of Chase Carter (Jesse Metcalfe - John Tucker Must Die (2006), Dallas (2012), Beyond a Reasonable Doubt (2009), The Other End of the Line (2008)) whom is an internet journalist. Frank West (Rob Riggle - 21 Jump Street (2012), The Hangover (2009), Dumb and Dumber To (2014), Let’s Be Cops (2014)) safely saw how the zombie quarantine went wrong from his television newsroom. Frank later worries about selling his new book instead of all the innocent people being turned into zombies. Chase, on the other hand, is caught in the new zombie outbreak twirl. The new Zombrex-proof virus strain traps the zombies in the East Mission quarantine zone. Forgot to mention, zombies are trapped with survivors as well. Crystal O’Rourke (Meghan Ory - Once Upon a Time (2011), Vampire High (2001), Dark House (2009), Intelligence (2014)) tries to help Chase as the zombie count goes up . Chase thinks that it is a government conspiracy and tries to uncover it. The government is doing nothing to help the citizens except for tracking them and removing their privacy.
What troubles me about this movie is that although Chase is surround by zombies, he never seems to be in trouble/danger. The blood streaks are pixelated, gore is CGI, acting was good but not excellent and the effects were average. I enjoyed watching this movie but would not have been distraught over not seeing it. I would not go out of my way to see it and suggest others to do the same.
