Deadly Gamble (2015) Review
Deadly Gamble (2015) is an independent American thriller horror movie that is 78 minutes long. It was filmed in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA and in several location in New Jersey, USA. The movie had a budget of approximately $10,000 and had only 14 days to shoot the movie. Director and writer Mario Cerrito did a phenomenal job with executing his first movie. Mario was also the executive producer, location manager, production accountant, casting associate, editor and had a role in Deadly Gamble as Sal.
Deadly Gamble begins by showing us sick and twisted Viktor’s (Manny Mertis) basement that is a torture chamber. Viktor has someone tied to a wooden chair in his very dangerous basement. The movie goes on to showing us the story of how his victim landed himself in the hands of Viktor. Andrew Cain (Bernard Glincosky - I Kill to Luv You (2011), Close-Up (2011), The Listing (2015)) was a nice guy with terrible gambling problems but turned his life around. He is now working full time, settled down with pretty Heather Cain (Lyssa Roberts - How Do You Know (2010), Franny (2015), 7 Days in Hell (2015)) and a house. Andrew and Heather are having problems in their relationship, and Andrew is returning to his old habits, gambling. Returning to gambling resulted in him asking for a loan of $70,000 from Viktor. We all know that Andrew cannot pay back the loan, so what will happen to him?
Deadly Gamble was a very unpredictable amazing watch that I will show to guests. The actors all did an excellent job with their parts. The set was not much to talk about, but the director has skills and made do with this $10,000 budget to bring us this brilliant movie. I was glued to my TV as I was watching this film, and what occurred was from the opening scene. The sound was not stable and was recognizable but keep in mind - low budget. I did not expect Mario to choose such wonderful music to go with the different tones of the movie since time was a concern, but he shined and achieved it well.
