The Last House on Cemetery Lane Review
Synopsis:A screenwriter staying in an old manor house in West Wales discovers that it's haunted by malevolent spirits.
The Last House on Cemetery Lane (2015) is a UK so-called horror movie that will not even make you shiver one bit but I am almost sure that it will make you want to fall asleep if you actually do not. Director, producer and writer Andrew Jones (The Amityville Asylum (2013), Teenage Wasteland (2006), Valley of the Witch (2014)) failed miserably at this movie in every possible way. I would have given this move a zero if there were a zero on the number rating scale. Director Jones has some experience in the movie industry and should have done a better job instead of wasting good money.
The Last House on Cemetery Lane is about a horror movie writer John Davies (Lee Bane - Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection (2012), Theatre of Fear (2014), Menu (2014), Raine River (2012)) who is writing a screenplay. He is writing the screenplay in an old creepy house that is supposedly haunted with a blind mysterious older lady Agnes (Vivien Bridson - Fury (2014), The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) (2011), Red Glasses (2014), Bollocks (2012)) living above him. He was told by his friends that it was a good plot for a movie. Hmmm, if you are into seeing the main character taking long boring strolls on the beach to find messages in bottles in a slow paced movie then this is the movie for you. I strongly urge you not to watch it though.
I cannot get over the fact that a lot of money was wasted in making this horrifying movie - money that could have helped an orphanage or could have been given to a charity. I did not get why writing was appearing on the walls, and the door knobs were turning by themselves - nothing was explained, and it did not fit into the movie. The actors did not help this movie, and the special effects should not have been done because it made the movie worse if there were space to do even that. This movie does not even make it on my worst movie list, but it did make it to my shred and throw in the garbage list. The music was plain awful as well. Good luck to anyone that dares to watch this dreadful movie.
