Scream Machine Review
Synopsis:5 Twisted tales Designed to Devour your soul until you puke your Guts.
Scream Machine (2014) is an American low budget horror anthology movie that is made up of five segments/stories. The five stories are different from each other, but all of them offers a little twist that does not boggle your mind too much. Director and co-writer Scarlet Fry (Nightmare Alley (2010), Horrorama (1989), Junkfood Horrorfest (2007)) had a good concept and screenplay, but the execution failed. The movie had potential of being something amazing. I will explain a little about each segment.
Sledgehammer is about a baseball pitcher (Walter Ruether) that threw the ball too hard and killed his best friend (Josiah Spargo) who is the catcher. The boys wanted to impress some scouts and that they did. About two years later, someone is out to take revenge on the pitcher who is now very successful in his career as a pitcher.
Pen-Pals is about husband (Randy Robinson) who is on a killing spree and is secretly gay. His wife does not know, and he is also in love with Jeffrey Dahmer.
April Fools Party
April Fools Party is about four drug addicts that think it will be funny to play a trick on their drug dealer. I think we all pretty much guessed it - yes their trick did not go as they plan and now they wished that they did not mess with their drug dealer.
Septic Shock is about a wife and her new guy locking her husband (Tom Szczepanski) inside a septic tank and leaves him there to die. Her new lover is also her husband’s doctor. Her husband is set on getting revenge although he is locked in the septic tank. The husband dies, and his remains enter the house through the pipes after the house becomes backed up.
The Deadly Indie Drive-In
The Deadly Indie Drive-In is about a young woman (Kim Wagner-Hemmes) who went on a date at a drive-in movie. She soon wished that she did not go on the date as it was torturous and hellish. She started to hear voices from the radio and thinks it is the characters from the movie speaking directly to her. The voices told her that she has to kill her date to survive - will you?
Overall, the segments had cheesy jokes, lack of thrills, bad acting, dull, had a nightmarish execution and I would not recommend other horror fans to watch this movie.
