Jurassic World (2015) Review

Jurassic World (2015) is an American science fiction adventure movie that is the fourth installment in the Jurassic Park movie series. Director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), Home Base (2002), Gary: Under Crisis (2005)) did a fantastic job bringing Jurassic World to the camera. BD Wong (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), Jurassic Park (1993), Mulan (1998), Seven Years in Tibet (1997)) starring as Dr. Henry Wu is the only character from any of the previous movies to be in Jurassic World. Jurassic World was supposed to be release in the summer of 2005, but the date was pushed back several times and underwent many revisions. Jurassic World broke the record for earning the highest gross worldwide on its opening weekend grossing $500 million worldwide. The movie was action packed with excellent CGI and wonderful camera work. The sets were a treat as well, and so was the cinematography. There was more than enough gore in this movie and dinosaur chewing up humans.

Jurassic World takes place 22 years after Jurassic Park with a functional dinosaur theme park located on Isla Nublar. Zach (Nick Robinson - The Kings of Summer (2013), Melissa & Joey (2010), Frenemies (2012)) and his brother Gray (Ty Simpkins - Insidious (2010), Iron Man 3 (2013), Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013)) are visiting their aunt. Their aunt Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard - The Help (2011), The Village (2004), Spider-Man 3 (2007), 50/50 (2011)) is Jurassic World park operations manager. The company that created the park is Ingen, and they created a genetically-modified Dinosaur that was made up of several predatory dinosaurs DNA and DNA from cuttlefish and tree frogs. The new DNA invented dinosaur was called Indominus Rex. Owen Grady (Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Her (2013), Moneyball (2011)) is a Velociraptor trainer and warns everyone that the Indominus Rex is not used to being around other dinosaurs and that can be dangerous. The movie was very interesting as it touched the subject of using dinosaurs for military use. It is discovered that the Indominus Rex is very clever as it outsmarted the staff into thinking that it escaped when it was there hiding. The dinosaur is on a rampage killing everyone in its way. Zach and Gray enter the story again with everyone looking for them after they ignored warnings and wandered off.

The movie has so much to offer viewers with an open mind. I was disappointed that this movie took several years to make and still had a few plot holes and hiccups. The dinosaur had the ability to change colors, but we did not see him use that ability after it was mentioned. I would recommend this movie to dinosaur fans and science fiction fans who love a good action-filled flick.
